Vendors may stay later if they wish. Set-up time is 30 minutes before opening time.
Each seller should have a sign identifying vendor's farm, location and a general description of how they grow their products ( Certified Organic, Practicing Sustainable, Conventional).
Vendors should be dressed appropriately and treat customers and other vendors with respect.
Domestic animals are not allowed at the market. Animals brought to market by customers must be kept on a leash at all times and away from all food areas.
Vendors must not leave produce in market trash cans, as the cans may not be emptied for several days. Take discarded produce with you or give it to a vendor with animals at home.
Who May Sell
1. Farmers Farmers may be represented at the market by their employees, agents or family (the names of all sellers must be on the application).
Farmers must:
Grow your product within 100 miles of Needville, Texas.
Fill out and sign a vendor application before you plan to begin selling at the market.
Allow an inspection of your farm or facilities.
Be able to provide all required licenses.
If you grow organic, you must be T.D.A. certified to be able to advertise that your produce is organic grown.
Determine your own prices of your products and prices must be posted.
All sellers will provide their own means of display; necessary bags, approved calibrated scales (if using scales), and keep the area around their space free of trash.
All produce must be fresh, neat and attractively displayed.
Farmers may supplement produce from their farm by no more than 25% with produce from neighboring farms within a 25-mile radius of the producer's farm. Vendors are prohibited from purchasing products from a wholesaler for resale in the Creekside Farmer's Market. (The Texas Department of Agriculture does not permit ungraded eggs to be sold by anyone other than the owner of the flock. Thus, you cannot sell eggs from a neighboring farm.)
2. Value-added Vendors and Craft vendors. A farmer may be a Value-Added Vendor of his/her own Value-Added Product if made in accordance with the rules and approved by the market manager. To become a Value-Added vendor or a Craft vendor at the market, you must:
Produce your own product (whether value-added, ready-to-eat, or a craft).
Fill out and sign a vendor application before you plan to begin selling.
Allow an inspection of your facilities.
Hold all required permits and licenses necessary for your operation and provide copies to the market upon request.
Products You May Sell
1. Agricultural Products:
Any vegetables grown by the seller from seeds, sets, or seedlings.
Any fruits, nuts or berries grown by the seller from trees, bushes, or vines on the seller's farm.
Nuts harvested from the seller's trees (shelled or unshelled).
Honey produced by the seller's bees.
Fresh cut flowers grown by the seller.
2. Meat, fish, dairy and eggs. Farmers are allowed to sell meat, fish, dairy products, and eggs at the market that they have raised/grown themselves on their farm. Vendors of these products must be in compliance with the regulations of the State of Texas.
3. Live Goods. Vendors are permitted to sell starter plants of edible produce, fruit trees and herbs. All items must have been grown by the vendor from seed, seedling or cuttings. Seeds may be sold if the seller collected the seeds directly from plants.
4. Value-Added Products.
Dried herbs, spices, dried tea mixes, beans, grains, fruits, nuts and vegetables grown by the seller and as required processed by the seller in compliance with all health regulations.
Shelled nuts from seller's trees, including those that have been salted, roasted or flavored.
Dried flower arrangements and wreaths. The arrangements and wreaths produced solely by the seller.
Herbal products including salves, lotions, soaps, teas, etc.
Vendors must have appropriate permits and licenses to sell the following:
Jams, preserves, vinegars, salsas, pesto, oils and flavored oils, baked goods and other edible products that are prepared by the seller.
Other products approved by the market and consistent with the intent of the market purpose to give regional producers direct access to customers.
5. Crafts. Crafters and producers of crafts must comply with the following rules:
All crafts offered for sale must be handmade. Any craft or artwork sold must be the work of the vendor. All crafts and artwork must be the original work of no more than two individuals.
All crafts must be examined and approved by the market manager before they are admitted for sale at the market.
6. Other Products. The Market Manager must approve products not specifically listed in these rules.
Creekside Market Premises
Electricity: Only those usages of electricity approved by the market will be permitted.
Loss, Theft, or Injuries: The market or any of its employees will not be responsible for loss through theft or otherwise of private property at the market. The market will not be responsible for personal injuries or damages to individual or personal property.
Damage to Market Property: Persons causing damage to market property shall be financially responsible for the cost of repairs or replacements.
Prohibited Behavior: Vendors are not permitted to smoke in the selling area. No consumption of alcoholic beverages or drugs is allowed on-site at anytime. Loud speakers, loud music or loud and disruptive people are not allowed. Creekside Farmer's Market is a family venue with the goal of connecting local producers directly with local consumers. The Market Manager has the right and authority to direct or make any necessary changes deemed to be detrimental to The Market.
Vacating Space: Each vendor, when removing his truck from the assigned space, shall leave the space clean for the next incoming vendor.
